Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026 // Version 1.0

1. Overview & Scope

ProjectX is engineered with a strict zero-trust architecture for self-hosted infrastructure management. We believe developer tools must respect privacy by design. This Privacy Policy outlines what minimal data we collect, how it is used, and how your infrastructure credentials are kept 100% on your local devices.

2. Data We Collect

When you interact with our transparency hub or join our early access waitlist, we collect limited information to manage build invitations:

  • Waitlist Email Address: Used exclusively to send TestFlight, Google Play Beta, and product progress updates.
  • Infrastructure Profile Metadata: Target mobile OS (iOS/Android), server count range, and workload type (Production/Homelab).
  • Monetization Preferences: Optional willingness to pay and expected monthly price ranges to guide sustainable indie development.

3. Infrastructure & Key Security

Your self-hosted server credentials, API tokens, SSH keys, and container configurations NEVER pass through or touch our cloud servers:

  • All API keys and credentials are encrypted using hardware-backed storage on-device inside iOS Keychain and Android Keystore.
  • Direct SSH and socket connections are established strictly between your mobile client and your VPS/cloud servers.
  • We never maintain master backend relays or proxy servers capable of decrypting your server traffic.

4. Privacy-First Analytics

To improve site performance and understand community feature demand, we employ privacy-focused, cookie-less telemetry tools:

  • Umami Analytics: Self-hosted, privacy-first analytics that track aggregate pageviews without storing personal cookies or cross-site identifiers.
  • Microsoft Clarity: Used to capture anonymized visual session recordings and heatmaps to catch UX bottlenecks.

5. Data Rights & Removal

You retain full control over your submitted data. You may request immediate removal of your email address and metadata from our waitlist at any time by contacting our engineering team at privacy@projectx.dev or via our admin support queue.
